Now watch me prattle on in typical fangirl fashion. I had just goverenss an epic series and wanted something not as time consuming. Julie has a gift of drawing the reader in with various mysteries, interesting ladies, handsome but a bit rugged gentlemen, too many the silent governess by julie klassen guys and a story that flows and builds beautifully.
There were some aspects I need to mention. I love when an author writes a book with a well done research behind it. Why does she scamper off into the night leaving her mother to fend for herself without any reassurances that she will ever see her again? At the time of purchase it was the 1 trending Nook Book on Barnes and Noble, therefore forcing me to pay attention to it.
The plot had a bit of mystery in it, which I enjoyed, and I liked that by the end all the loose ends were the silent governess by julie klassen up.
I also never realized how seperate and lonely the life of a governess would be. Olivia is taken on as a nurserymaid, and goerness later a governess, all the while getting closer to Edward Bradley, and trying to discover the whereabouts of her mother and the identity of the blackmailer. Keeping an eye on the young woman as she cares for the children, he finds himself drawn to her, even as he struggles against the growing attraction. She is a silent under-nurse, then a non-silent governess.
